Here's my response to the Prius commercials

Jul 16, 2009 17:44

A couple of weeks ago I saw someone putting along in the left lane holding up traffic that was driving a Toyota Prius. They happened to have of all things, an OBAMA/BIDEN sticker, and a Macintosh decal. I started getting angry, and was really thinking of cutting them off ( Read more... )

First off, John's mom is renting us a Prius for the vacation thing so... meh.

Secondly, when I saw that you got a Charger I couldn't help but laugh because not three hours ago John and I were riding around and every time he saw one he kept going "CHARGER!" and it was really annoying. I like it though. Especially since it's white and shiny.

Here we go again...

Well you're not a prius owner, so you and john don't count in that group. People who rent or just use one from time to time don't count. Those people who are owners have a mindset of they're better than everyone else and that they're saving the planet or some stupid thing like that, they're very smug. You should see the southpark episode about that. Obama is screwing up this country, and prius owners seem to be all for him. Its the same with mac owners. They think they're better than everyone else, and are very smug or snobbish. It irks me.

That is funny that he was doing that. I like my new baby, this thing is fine, and very powerful.

I agree. People are weird.

And that's all I'm going to say because I've been trying REALLY HARD to be nice to folks to get ready to spend four days with his parents and the kids and not be my usual snarky self.
Some Mac owners are cool, but most of whom I've met are like that as well.

I should see the South Park ep about that. I should really watch a lot more South Park. :/

And you know I don't even really have a problem with the Prius, I think its cool to have a car that can get 60MPG and stuff. Its just the PRIUS OWNER mentality that pisses me off. Its the message they're sending. And I know John, and he "isn't" one of those types. I don't think you are either, but I could never be for sure because ur a grrrrl. You eat meat though, so I'm leaning more towards not being one of those types ( ... )

Yeah it worked out great. I was planning on putting tint on my new car but when they brought it over I saw the tint was already on it... How awesome. Saved me about 300 bucks.

Actually, I get way better mileage in my Ford Focus than the regular Prius (non hybrid - anyway..) and the hybrids are so new and untested (version 1.0) there's NO WAY I'd invest that much in one, screw that. I'm all for alternative energy and research but let them be around 10 years and be cheaper before I get one. I actually had Prius on the list of cars to consider when I was car shopping (that and a few Hondas). The deal on this slightly used 2008 Focus was the best tho, and I get 37 mpg.. tho I am NOT a power driver by any stretch of the imagination.. its a stretch to get me to do 70 on the interstate. :)

You should see the inside. It's huge, and its super comfortable and you can't feel anything on the road. You probably wouldn't even feel a MACTRUCK hitting it.

Exactly! Very roomy, its a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and the way it handles is awesome, very high performance, in a turn there is hardly any swaying or leaning. With it being such a heavy car I can't feel anything on the road. So its a very quiet and smooth ride.

Get this, I've already put 280 miles on it from fill up, and I am only down to 3/4 of a tank, so I have a full 1/4 tank left and I'm almost to 300 miles. My impala would always be empty by the time I hit 300 miles. I really think I'm going to surpass 300, I'll be posting about it in a day or two.
