I so frickin' hated "I am Legend". Terrible. Nonsense. Smith's death made no sense, when they could have written something that did make his death make sense.
How did the girl and the boy make it onto Manhattan island when bridges and tunnels were bombed out? How'd they make it off? What's with the 11th hour inclusion of God and fate when the majority of the movie mentions none of these things. That was a sloppy piece of work.
A good movie with a tragic but good ending: Sunshine. Not sure if its out on DVD in your neck of the world yet but keep an eye out for it. Really something special.
Alrighty, so I watched Sunshine. Thank you!! Very much not a shit movie. Bad things happen, but it happens in a cool and meaningful way. And an extra bonus to you for there not even being a sing gun shot. I mean, I like guns an all....but I'm a bit tired of them as the "clever twist" in movies these days. Thanks again!
...And of course I meant a "single" gun shot rather than the sort that dances and goes to auditions. Though I have nothing against those, and respect what they do.
But that's just because you're depressed and unhappy deep down inside, and secretely want even fictious characters to die if there is any chance of them winding up even semi-happy.
Isn't that so! Inn't so! Please Lauren, don't take your hatred of happiness out on the poor characters in movies. Smith was never going to be happy, and it's not such a cliche for the character to survive scarred in the end considering the fact that every epic movie these days has to end with a main character dying in order to seem more "realistic and non-cliche." I mean, it was never going to be too horribly realistic anyway. I'd much prefer if he did something incredible and smart, rather than doing the ol' martyr thing, don't you think?
