Nezz, I want to comment you on this fantastic piece of writing.
I also, was a 'virgin voter' and I was really proud/pleased with the fact that the ten minutes it took me yesterday, meant that I have now, permenantly etched my place into shaping our countries future.

Also, like you, my interests wandered from the conventional power parties.

It seems though that there was a general disinterest in the whole affair from most of our 'generation' as the prospect of doing anything on a Saturday is simply preposterous and that disgusts me somewhat, to know that there is a generation full of apethetic "cant-be-bothered" young adults.

So yeah, well spoken Nezz, with you 100%

Heh, thanks. I was just another average rabble.
But yeh, this generation is "can't-be-bothered". With so many problems that are lying ahead, I hope they better start caring about their country and humanity as a whole, as opposed to the outfit they need to wear on the weekend :/

"America where votes mysteriously go missing and consequentially changed."

I ROFL after reading that because i had only just watch the Futurama movie. ZOMG what an awesome movie that was.

This was my third election, and I told the lady standing at the boxes I was highly disappointed because the box didn't glow when I put my paper in :(

I have to admit, my first time I voted, and the second I voted for just who someone else said to vote for.

I prolly should pay more attention, but I always put the greens first :) I just hate the bombardment as you walk into there!

See, we did a pre-poll vote as we were going up for Dom and Bec's wedding, so we didn't get bombarded at all :P
Being a small, but industrial town, Labor is pretty much the preference here, so I think even on the day, no one probably bothered.
