I've come to the point in my life where I despise debating. It probably kicked in about half way through the 2004 Presidential election. I came to the conclusion that I don't really care. When I say I don't care it's not that I don't care about what's going on, but I don't care about trying to change another persons mind.

i agree that arguing doesn't accomplish much in converting people. but i also understand that the Bible says to have an answer ready for all those who attack the faith. and it also says that paul would argue with greeks using reason. ideally, when i talk to someone about my faith i would want the ultimate goal to be that God would be glorified. God is glorified if that person comes to faith in Him, but even if that person doesn't God is still glorified by my defense of Him. it's kinda like the illustration of fishing...if you're goal in fishing is to catch fish, you'll be disappointed. but if you're goal in fishing is simply to fish, then you'll never be disappointed. savvy?

I agree. At the same time though when people are arguing over each other I don't see God being glorified at all. I think we should have an answer for those who question or attack our beliefs or any belief for that matter. What is the point in believing something if you can't defend it ( ... )
