The pairing with the most baggage?
OK... so I spent a week trying to fight this because I didn't want to be monotonous, but it has to be this. As far as baggage goes, these two are nearly impossible to beat.
"Ohai, remember that big war between our races that almost completely obliterated Humankind? Yeah, I sort of started that."
"That's OK, I'm the guy who nuked that big ship and made your people all pissed off. Did I mention I'm a widower? Never even got to say goodbye."
"Oh... hmmm... about that? I kind of have this inkling that your dead wife isn't really dead, but I'm not going to tell you because I'm afraid if you knew, you wouldn't agree to father my universe-saving baby. Anyway, wanna have dinner?"
"Hey, yeah, dinner sounds great! But we're gonna have to make it quick because I have an appointment to go jump off an alien balcony and plunge toward certain death in a bit."
"Certain death? That wouldn't have anything to do with the not-dead wife, would it?"
"Well actually... I mean, yes, but in the end I did it for you, but... it's complicated, anyway I'm back. I only have 20 years to live, but let's get hitched, huh? OH BTW I was also married one other time, LOLZ."
