Speaking of punching motions, have you tried Oblivion yet? Sadly, it turns out that hand-to-hand is not very good... Who'd have thought that using a sword was better than using your bare fists ^^;;

Nooo! A thousand martial-arts fantasies shattered in one fell electronic swoop!
Wait. I never had many martial-arts fantasies. Rats.
:-)

Alas, were I to attempt to run Oblivion at the moment, my computer would just have enough time to throw me a sarcastic look before spontaneously combusting, so I fear that its shiny pleasures will evade me for some time yet :-(.
I am, however, assured that with the use of 3-4 mods it is transformed from a sub-par adventure experience to a well-nigh _transcendental_ gaming experience, so CPU upgrades are on the cards in the near future...

Yeah, kinda. It's kinda... Boring-levelling-y, especially with the way that stat-ups at level work. I don't want to go into too much detail, but basically you have to pick all your major skills as things you never want to use, in order to avoid being too weak for level-dependent dungeons, and more importantly missing out on valuable stat points.

Hmmm. Seems I did go into it in detail. Ah well. You're welcome to come try it here, if you want...

Heh, sounds like Morrowind for the stat-thing (never could abide missing out on stat points), but the level-adjustment is, by all accounts, crap. And needs to be modded out or at least capped both ways for maximum enjoyment.

Hmmm... I know it's crappy from a mechanical point of view, but from a storyline perspective the 'choose skills you'd never want' thing must be quite cool:
"Yes, I know I started out as a Scrivener / Charcoal-burner, but I had to put all that behind me to face the Dark Evil Nasty!.
...Well, apart from obsessively burning charcoal and scrivening bone in twelve-hour stints at points along my adventure, but... It's an addiction, ya know!
Uh... You uh, got any charcoal there? No? Uh, seriously? 'Cause *I* think you're holdin' out on me. Better not be doin' that, baby-girl! Oh yeah, papa needs his medicine baby! Hand it over!"
:-D

...yes. Anyway. Think I'll stop there :-).
