...inspried by sillyvibe's post here. i dont know if im on your side for this one, but i hear you...

i guess i should preface this by saying that instinctively, i am a pretty jealous person. given that, over my years of relationships and semi-relationships, i've had to learn to control my feelings and make sense of any instance of my boyfriend looking at ( Read more... )

i expect my boyfriend to be considerate of my insecurites and my feelings and not go on and on about how this girl or that girl is really hot or gawk at another girl...convicing me every day that i'm the most beautiful girl in his eyes. because if there's someone else he thinks is better than me (or if he makes me feel that way!), then there's definitely reason to question the value of our relationship...

AMEN! This whole insecurity issue is definitely cause to examine the relationship from an objective standpoint. (easier sed than done, eh? :P) And ur right--there isn't much u can change about a guy at this pt. We're all pretty much set in our ways by now. And it's NOT worth it. It'll only make u feel less worthy and insecure trying...

It's kinda tough call whether if the girl is just insecure or whether the guy is really wandering his eyes for something better.

so then all these posts centering around the girl.... what about the guy?!?!

what about if i need to feel pretty and secure about things, huh??? did you ever consider that??? what about MY insecurities? in my honest opinion i think guys need to be given the same benefit as well. granted a guy takes things a little differently but i mean in the end he needs to be reassured things too. i come from a standpoint of always wanting equality in relationships and i tend to notice with a lot of people these days (generalization, no pointing fingers whatsoever) that because there is a stereotype that says that guys do this all the time women tend feel even more victimized than they really are (but yes, not always true). sometimes i just think that many times a girl focuses so much effort and thought into how they need to be more reassured about things that they forget that guys have certain insecurities too.

but yes a lot of times it's a tough call, wandering eyes happens in both genders these days.

no one said that guys don't have insecurities. And if they do, they should do the same and bring up the issue. I agree that the relationship should be equal in most stand points. I think the topics that are discussed were merely female opinions. Males and females react differently, but surely I don't think we're asking for something we won't reciprocate.
