AB pictures...and summer plans

So I thought a few pictures were in order. R, the girls and I were talking about what were some of the things we liked the most about living here, and overwhelmingly what came up was how much wildlife we have seen, such as from our day trip out to Jasper national park, feeling closer to nature, as well as really enjoying having the University of ( Read more... )

Pretty pretty picture!! I am so jealous of your view! Love how the goats are just walking, taking their time. They know the cars will stop for them, LOL. Drumheller, isn't that where the dino bones are and the hometown of a certain Idol runnerup?

We are quite happy with the view from our bedroom, for sure! Such a nice change from looking into other people's backyards. The daytrip to Jasper was so much fun we didn't mind the 3 hour trip there and back. So many pretty vistas, and the girls were so excited to see the real mountains!

Those mountain goats were such a hoot--so blase about the cars and the people hopping out of said cars to take their picture!

Yeah, Drumheller will be cool--when we eventually get there. We're hoping to do more than just a daytrip. Hmmm...which Idol runnerup was from Drumheller?

Looks fantastico. Yeah, that sort of thing is why I like living in the NW now. I feel more like I'm connected to it, in the middle of it. Pretty things are not faraway places or movies or books. They're right on the other side of the street.

Absolutely! It's funny--R and I are pretty sedentary, indoor people in our habits, so we were both surprised that eachother's favourite things about AB involved the outdoors and nature. I hope we don't become blase about it as we settle in here.

I know I havn't gotten blase' about it, it's still cool neat and exciting. We're finding having the motocycles gets us out more. Travelling is fun, so we go out just to do it. I discovered far more of our immediate vicinity once we had the bikes than before we did. Before we'd go out if we know of a location to go to. Now we just go because we've never been down that road before and it looks like fun on the map.

That's good to hear, that the outdoors is still a big draw for the two of you, I mean. Don't think R and I are the motorcycle types! The girls being so enthusiastic as well only serves to feed our enthusiasm. Since we are looking at changing cars, and possibly *gasp* purchasing a second car, we will have to balance fuel efficiency with comfortable road-tripping.
