I mainly gave this a try because Annie Murphy (Alexis, Schitt's Creek) is in it, and she's amazing in it, but you have to be in the mood for something a little different

I think the title is based on the sitcom Kevin Can Wait in which the actress who played the wife to Kevin James' Kevin was fired over hiatus and the character killed off on the show so they could bring in Leah Remini. For that reason alone I find the title amusing because that whole situation (even though I never watched the show as I'm not a fan of sitcoms for the very reason this show was created) irritated me, so I got a little chuckle out of it every time I saw it back when it was just being announced.
I feel like they were trying to parody sitcom style titles, and added a dash of edgy, but I don't thing even streaming channels are willing to drop an F bomb in the title.
I also wondered how they were going to sustain this concept long term. I mean, the first season is only 8 eps, so maybe that's one way they can fill more seasons.
Also, because of the 'sitcom bits', which I already hate, I find it difficult to watch that part of the show. I'm also getting worried about how Allison is coping.
It's been interesting to see reactions to the sitcom bits. I've seen a lot of people comment about how they're now thinking about how those scenes would play out without the sitcom filter.
Kevin basically declared war on a neighbor for no reason, and it's a scenario that often plays out on sitcoms for big laughs. He also tried to scam people in his "escape room" and had them locked up for hours. Pretty sure IRL there would have been police involvement in both scenarios.
I know we're not supposed to like the sitcom parts and realize Kevin is a villain, but now I'm wondering if Allison is a reliable source of information. Is she any better than Kevin in the big picture? She seems to have stumbled into rebellion and is hurting people, but is that really what's happening?
