i'm so excited for you possibly going to italy! that's wicked exciting. i've been there once and it was unbelievable, let me know what that turns into and wehther you're def going and if you'll be in rome or anywhere else (we started in rome and headed south, to some very anti-touristy places which was amazing).

we should also totally chat about leaving the nest and moving and everything. i'm trying to figure out leaving boston after this spring, and it's so intense. even though i've barely been IN boston this year (that is not traveling or in the office all the time) it's been so wonderful to be near my immediate family and my nephew and friends i've had all my life and friends i've only made recently and can't imagine living far away from. that said, i really want to move and am really excited about possibilities and lack of concrete plans (scary for me but exciting) andddddddd yeah, we should talk. i miss you a lot.

love,
betty jeanne

the east coast is gorgeous and on the cheaper side - in general there's so much touristy stuff in the big cities like rome, milan, venice it's also really awesome to get off the beaten tourist track and head for the less-visited areas. i was in calabria (the "toe of the boot" part of italy) for several days and it was soooo different and amazing and people were much friendlier. it's also near sicily, which is amazing. yeah, well, you know, you can't go wrong in italy :) that's so awesome that you're going!

i will hopefully/probably be in europe this summer, when are you going to be there?
