I've never done the interview meme before! But let it never be said I wont jump on a fun looking bandwagon.
pepper-field asked me
1. What's your favourite Jack/Daniel scene?
Gaaaah, there's so many. If I had to pick one favorite, from the whole show, off of what I can currently remember, I guess it would be...crap. Um. I can't pick! On any given day, it rotates between the first scene with Daniel in 'Abyss', the last scene still in the fortress in 'Abyss' (the "you were gone" scene), Jack's "find him" scene in 'Icon', pretty much anything from 'Meridian', and the last scene of 'Homecoming.'
In fact, I think that's my top pick...Daniel and Jack by the gate in 'Homecoming'.
Wow, it took me a ridiculously long time to make up my mind on those.
2. Why is Han Solo so much hotter than Indy, then? (See, I do read your lj!)
Oooh, well, I think it's part the space pirate thing, and part the tight, wonderful pants, but mostly I think it's all down to attitude. Han is just cooler than Indy, I think, with stronger loyalties, more interesting motivations, and much more interesting movie to movie arc. Also, Indy I think is kind of presented as a "good guy", but who dips into grey moral areas as it suits him, whereas Han is more of a "neutral to bad guy", but who does the right thing a lot of the time, maybe even in spite of himself. And I love those characters!
Also, the pants. I...mentioned the pants, right? ;)
3. Who's your favourite Muppet?
I love Beaker. I've always loved him, and the Dr. Bunsen segments used to get me so flustered because I felt so bad for poor Beaker. But now I have an extra attachment because I've been nicknamed after him.
True story: At the time I was on prescription Ambien for insomnia, and I used to get really frustrated and irritated laying in bed thinking about it not having kicked in yet. One night I had the brilliant idea to take my pill about 40 minutes before I was planning to get in bed, so when I was finally going to sleep I would just collapse and pass right out. Not a good plan. Fairly quickly I was calling my roommate in because I was convinced that some notes pinned to my bulletin board looked like they were moving. She (tried to) put me to bed, and went into her room with our third roommate. They were watching something and having a good time and I was very upset to be left out, and somehow I ended up wandering down the hallway to her room, with a blanket on my head, high as a kite, and curling up next to her in her bed, and singing them
this song, in full. (We had recently rediscovered the Muppet Show on youtube.)
Needless to say, that story got around our social circle real fast.
4. If you could have one person send you a letter to tell you they liked your writing, who would it be?
Oh, wow, um...well, if we're talking about one person anywhere in the world, and ignoring the logistics here and the supreme unlikelihood of him ever reading anything I've written, if Joss Whedon one day said to me, "You're doing it right," I think that would be about the highest praise I could imagine. It's not that everything I think I've learned about comedy, and gallows humor, and invention, and writing people instead of characters, I've learned from him -- but he got the ball rolling.
5. What should Cam's stick figure art gimmick be? (*g*)
*flail* I have no idea! That's why I've never drawn Cam. He's impossible! I thought briefly about making him always fold his arms because BB is always folding his arms, but it looks silly and it's still really vague. Cam is un-stickable! It's very frustrating.
If you want to play, let me know, and I'll hit you up with five questions of your very own.
