Ooh! I need to remember to read that fic sometime - it's been sitting in my "to read" folder until I caught up but I'm caught up now...

I hear you on the categorization angst...

And unfortunately I don't think the fine people running the nominations would appreciate me sending in the confirmation with the category "Um...?"

Which is unfortunate, because Um...? sounds like a genre I can get behind.

Congratulations! I can understand your trouble figuring out how to classify it, though! I hadn't read it before, but now I have. I normally avoid future fics, but yours is lovely, and very fitting. (The naming of Sha're is perfect.)

*peeks at story to refresh elderly memory*

Oh, my, yes. Totally deserving of a nomination. But tricky. It's TEAM all the way. I'd try to squeeze it into Gen if you can.

Congratulations! :-)

Aw, thanks! Yeah, I think of it as a teamfic too, but like green_grrl said below, I would hate who's particularly diehard against the pairing to click and then be all, MY EYES, THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!

Although if I ever receive that exact comment I think I'll laugh forever.

Congratulations!!! And very well deserved!

When it comes to categories, I try to think of someone "from the other side of the fence," and whether they would be flinch at anthing in the fic. For instance, a diehard Sam/Jack shipper might think "NOOOOO!" to the idea that Cam and Sam ended up as life mates. But really I would run it past a few diehard Gen people and ask their opinion. Picking categories is hard!

Exactly, because I know how it feels to be suddenly ship ninja-ed halfway through a story and have to backtrack, all, "Waaaaaaitaminute." And on the other hand, I can imagine myself as a Sam/Cam shipper expecting a ship story and being like, that's it?

Dammit, I demand an "Oh, Hell, I Don't Know." category.

(Thank you!)

Congratulations. :-)

Categorization is a pain. I remember the first year I was in fandom they did away with the ship/gen/slash categories though, and that was apparently even worse.

Sigh. Good luck on the categorization.

See, that even sounds like a sentence that should end, "and chaos ensued."
