Ireland: Picspam the first

So, after about a week of jumping through hoops trying to retrieve pictures from the first four days of the trip from the black-hole-abyss of the photocard, and then doing the post-vacation ritual dance of "Wait, okay, how many pictures did I take?!" I bring you: picspam! I've tried to sort through the total disaster that is my photo folder and ( Read more... )

Very beautiful - and so green! Our Midwest drought seems about to end, at least locally, because rain is forecast for all but one day next week. :-)

Ooooh, normally I would think that sounds like depressing, but it sounds like you guys need it! In that case, whoohoo! Hopefully you'll be very green again soon.

Everywhere really was gorgeous, even on the days where it was cloudy or rainy. Sigh. I already miss it!

Wow, great photos. The scenery is spectacular.

And LOL - where I work here in New Zealand we had "O'Neill's Point" across the road from our office (until it turned into a Starbucks).

Damn Starbucks on every corner. ;)

And you in NZ! Some great scenery out there, too, I've heard. Man, in a perfect world, we'd all be able to just pack up and see everything.

Yes, it's lovely here. I often have to remind myself to stop and appreciate it. I think you have to travel to realise what's right under your nose, sometimes. So glad we emigrated. I'd be looking at grey London streets instead of native ferns right now.

Oh, gorgeous! I must go! My husband has relations in Ireland. We have been instructed that people with relations in Ireland may not stay in a hotel; they are ferried from one family to another for the duration of their stay. I think I can live with that.

Now to get the time and money to go....

Thanks for sharing the pics!

Yup, staying with relatives is half the fun! Unfortunately, since our family is so localized, we were on our own for most of the trip, but it's really nice being shown around all around by locals.

And if for some reason you can't stay with relatives, little B&Bs are the way to go. So nice!
