Ireland: picspam the second

Aug 21, 2007 17:45

Whew. Okay! So. These photos are actually all from the same general area -- on or around the Dingle Peninsula or the Ring of Kerry, all near Tralee, which was where we stayed. We were lucky and had two really beautiful days, so we just went all over.

Oh-so image heavy, don't say I didn't warn ya.

The Dingle Peninsula

I've actually thought some of the pictures were a little misleading due to lack of cows. Seriously, more cows than I have ever seen in my life, in Ireland. (Luckily my mom, sister, and I caught on pretty quickly and stopped dorkily pointing them out to each other. "Oh, cows!" Yeah, that had to go.)

I so want that house.

A lot of the road near Slea Head, which is the western-most point of mainland Europe, is all like this, right along the cliffs' edges. Really, really pretty unless you were my dad, who had to drive them.

I'd never seen the Atlantic from this side before!

An old house right near Slea Head. Awesome view (but slightly less awesome roof.)

The Ring of Kerry

There were several old houses just off the side of the road from where were staying. A few kids had cleared out one of them and turned it into a clubhouse. They had a curtain in the door and a few of the windows, and brought in some old furniture. (I'm still jealous, thinking about it. How cool is that? Rock on, kids.)

So there you go -- my trip to Ireland, in pictures. My dad and I took a few hundred photos over there, which we still have to organize, so my project this week is to pick out the ones we want to print and put in an album. (Oy!)

If anyone wants to see any of the pictures from this post or the last one full size, they're all in this album, plus several pictures that I uploaded but didn't put into the posts for whatever reason. (The ones from the first post are on the later pages.)

Oh, and before I forget. sidlj! Your birthday! I missed it! I'm so sorry! Happy Birthday! Eek. Many e-smooches your way, and wishes for a happy next year.
