I think essentially the "flash sideways" turned out to be the afterlife. Because they all died in the end. But they weren't "dead all along", all the island stuff was real.
Yes but he died EVENTUALLY. And like, the afterlife was timeless and stuff so they were all the same age there as they'd been on the island or something. Oh, I've not seen the epilogue yet. It's on the DVD, right?
