The last two books I read were by Dean Koontz. The thing is, I love Dean Koontz. He's like Stephen King for people like me who love King's ideas but hate his writing style. I first discovered Koontz in one of my dad's bookshelves, where he had basically every Koontz novel ever published (big fan of trashy horror and crime novels, my dad). I read

I could almost have handled the stupid right up to the time paradox. No. Just NO. Time travel is a complex plot device and you do NOT introduce it five pages from the end so you can deus-ex-machina one of your characters back to life. Especially not with a damn paradox, you hack.

I love trashy horror novels. That's one of the main things I miss about being in the UK - being able to check a tonne of them out of the library. I used to devour terrible stuff like Point Horror when I was a teenager lol.
