[A: Phone]

It seems as though things are back to normal... normal for these parts, anyway, however long that seems to last. What now?

[B: Phone Call to Yuri]

Yuri, are you alright?

Now we pick up the pieces, and try to live our lives.

Easier said than done, isn't it? It's hard to shake off the constant feeling of paranoia brought on by recent events, but I suppose there's always going to be something dangerous around the corner no matter where we are. Might as well live the best we can, right?

As I know no fear, the sensation of paranoia is utterly unknown to me.

And yes, we should.

Entirely unknown? You've never felt fear at all? [She really still has a lot to learn about Garviel.]

[At the store, trying to figure out the difference between ketchup and catsup Mike nods to the pretty red headed girl]

"Hey!"

Pffft placeholder or not I'm responding! nibelungprelude June 6 2011, 02:16:28 UTC
[Karin blinks as she looks up from trying to decide between two different bottles of mustard with almost identical labels. She inclines her head as she's addressed by the unfamiliar man, offering a smile.]

Hello. Can I help you?

Well, m'still alive. [Not that he's displeased with that, but the statement doesn't have his usual cheer. Or jeer, really.]

How 'bout you? Tell me you made it through that mess alright?

[She notes that he's sounding a little flat, and nods despite his not being able to see her at the moment.]

I made it through fine. Managed to hide out for most of it, somehow. I like this place less and less each day.

S'good. Takes a load off my mind, heh.

The novelty wore off fast, yeah. I think I'd rather be back in... that one tower. With the malice. Apony?

Nice feeling, to know someone was worried about me.

... Apoina Tower?

[For once, Sora hasn't gone immediately over to Ukraine's house to check on her friend and then end up sticking around for dinner. That happens quite often, but tonight she's actually come home after checking in on Koharu!

The girl almost goes crashing right on up the stairs with her schoolbag in tow, only the light on in the kitchen distracts her and brings her backtracking to peer in. They've probably met before. Maybe. Possibly. Though she can't really say she knows her Mayfield-provided mother very well.]

Uh. Hey! [oh no what is her name] Uh. Um. What are you doing?

[Staring contest with food? Sora can empathize. She loses those all the time.]

[Sora's voice draws Karin's attention; she looks up, mildly startled, and proceeds to look rather embarrassed. They've really only met in passing before now, though of course Karin is glad to have been interrupted by Sora rather than one of their drone family members.]

Trying to figure out why this is still raw. I cooked it, and the outside is warm, but the inside is still frozen. ... I'm not very good at this.

Uhhhhh. [Sora ventures into the kitchen to get a closer look at the chicken that is puzzling Karin so much.] Did you leave it in long enough?

[S-sob. Sora can't cook, either. This won't end well.]

[Karin hesitates a moment, but nods.]

I put it in for as long as the book said to... maybe took it out a few minutes earlier because I was afraid it would burn. I don't understand. I followed the directions.

[Except for the thawing part.]

I suppose "normal" is all relative, but... far from it, if you ask me.

I'm... not exactly sure it can be measured in distance.

If it could, though. Maybe a few hundred kilometers.
