One itty bitty point - the title of this is very similar to Stacey's He Remembered, so you might like to change it to save confusion. Now going to read...

Oh my word... this was so... how could Kurt have gone through that and stayed so strong? My heart was breaking for him, it really was.

If you scroll down the main Kurtships page, it was a few fics back. The plot was completely different, the stories are nothing alike. It was just an FYI :-)

Meh. I'm not going to change my title, because naming my stories is the most irritating part of anything.

If they were similiar, I might, but I don't think it matters.

I was so ecstatic when I saw that you were writing a 'scar' story, and my mind ran away with the angsty possibilities... and yet I never saw this coming.

The reveal is like some twisted Russian nesting doll of horror:
he got it when his mom was murdered...
in front of him...
before the killer marked him...
in a nice coated with his mom's blood...
before giving him a kiss...
and leaving him traumatized and wounded.

By the time I got to that final tiny "doll", my my heart was breaking for the Hummels.

But for all the horror and tragedy behind Kurt's scar, I think what really got to me in this story was the complications of having new family: Kurt's post-nightmare comfort ritual was disrupted by the Hudsons, however inadvertant their intrusion is. When Kurt realizes that with Finn and Carole here, the usual is being forgotten ... well, as strange as it may sound, THAT was the low point of the story for me. It wasn't the murder, the threat, the nightmare. It was that for that ( ... )

That was brutally brilliant. You might not have meant it that way but I for one totally saw that last moment as a pre-slash one, and it made my heart happy to think that Finn would help him heal in the future.

Oh god!!! This broke my heart!!! Dear god, I don't know what to say, I think I'll have nightmares, too because this was so sad, poor Kurt!! But I loved Burt tacking care of him and Finn trying to make him feel better.

Sad but with a beautiful ending.
