Chapter 4

Twitching on his black trousers, the beautiful man sitting in the backseat of the taxi tried to calm himself down before reaching his destination.

As the taxi was getting nearer to the tall building in front, he could feel his heart beating faster and faster and all those flashbacks kept intruding his mind.

He was snapped out from his memory when the taxi driver informed that he had reached the destination.

Paying the taxi fee and got up from the car, he took a deep breath before walking into the building.

There would be no turning back for him, but he had to do it.

Clenching his fists, he assured to himself in his heart, “You have to do this, Kim Jaejoong.”

“Mr Jung, the Human Resource department just sends in the profiles of the new employees. Please have a look at it.” The secretary mentioned while she placed a yellow file on the side of the office desk in front of the man who was still busy reading another document.

Yunho flipped on the file and simply took a look but stopped at one page.

He widened his eyes as he looked carefully on the profile photo.

General Services Department, Kim Jaejoong.

Kim Jaejoong, the name that he did not come across for 3 years and the name that he would never have forgotten.

It’s him, it’s really him, it’s his younger brother.

But his gaze once again moved to the big words “General Services Department” and that actually made him furrowed his eyebrows.

Without further hesitation, he stood up from the chair and hurriedly rushed out of the room, leaving the secretary who was calling for him behind.

As soon as the elevator reached the level of General Services Department, Yunho fastened his pace heading into the office while his eyes were searching and browsing through the windows glass, hoping to see the person who he was looking for.

“It’s the CEO.” Whisperings from the other staffs of the department was heard, but Yunho ignored them while he passed by them.

And finally, he saw the moving figure which seemed to be fixing the window grill at the corner of the room.

Even though he could not see his face clearly, he knew it was him, probably because they were blood-related.

“What are you doing here?” Yunho approached him and glad to see the figure jumped a bit when he heard his voice.

Taking a shallow breath, Jaejoong turned around and greeted him with a flawless smile, “Hi, sir. I’m working here, is there any problem with it?”

Yunho did not expect to get this kind of reaction from him.

Jaejoong should be hating him, or at least avoiding him like seeing a crazy bull, but he was back now and was currently working at his company, that was too weird for him. It would not be what a reasonable man would do.

But seeing sweats running down from his forehead because of the work he was doing, Yunho, out of instinct, took out his handkerchief and wiped them off, causing Jaejoong to widen his eyes for a few seconds before he adjusted his expression back to be bland.

No, he could not let anyone to know or guess what he was thinking of, especially Yunho who was right in front of him.

A few seconds later then Yunho realized that he was doing something he was not suppose to do and he stopped, stuffing the handkerchief into Jaejoong’s hand, “Erm, you better wipe your sweats, or you’ll smell bad later on.”

Then, he tugged his hands unnaturally into his pocket, tending to deny that he was not the person who was wiping off the sweats.

Jaejoong flashed a polite smile and held tighter on the handkerchief, “Thank you sir, it’s so kind of you to let your handkerchief becoming dirty because of a low position employee. It’s not worth and I mean it.”

Everyone who was in the department was shocked to listen to Jaejoong’s words. It was much more like a mock rather than a compliment.

They all watched to see how Yunho would react, but rather, Yunho was smirking, “Is it? It’s what I gave you and you should be appreciating it. I’m a good boss, anyhow. So now, can you tell me what are you doing here?”

“I’ve said that I’m working here, there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m an employee here, sir.” Jaejoong responded tonelessly but it sounded demanding.

“You should have gotten a better job, not doing these jobs and get yourself all wet with sweats.” Yunho stated.

Jaejoong had always maintained good results in school, there was no way he would be working as such low position.

When he ran out of home, Yunho was expecting him at least to be able to live on depending on the money he had stolen and probably he could at least find an ordinary job.

“Sir, are you pitying on me? I don’t need that. I’ve got lots of work experiences which were far more worse than my current job, this was really…… nothing.” Still the same cold look and voice.

It was obvious that Jaejoong had really changed a lot, he was not even afraid of him anymore.

Yunho was speechless when he looked at Jaejoong’s eyes, to think that he might have caused him to suffer a lot after leaving the house. It was indeed him who caused him to leave the house indirectly.

At that time when he realized that Jaejoong was gone together with Ji Shin, it was strange that he did not even felt enraged. In fact, he was kind of relieved that they were out of the house.

After several considerations, he finally came out with a conclusion that the main reason he wanted to get rid of them from the house was that he did not know how he should face them.  How could he face the people who he claimed that they had caused the death of his parents? He couldn’t.

Three years might be enough to forget the pain, and Yunho finally realized that the most innocent person in the whole thing was Jaejoong but yet, he had hurt him.

He thought, he might be able to get along with Jaejoong one day if he really came back.

But looking at the different Jaejoong in front of him, he could feel his heart aching, may be just a little bit.

Jaejoong was not that little boy who was always following him from behind and kept calling him “Hyung!”.

Now, he was like a stiff doll, who did not care about anything that happened around him.

“Fine, if this is what you want, better do your job nicely.” Yunho put on his serious expression and demanded.

If that was how Jaejoong wanted, then he would not have to change anything.

“Yes, sir.” Jaejoong replied while gave a slight bow to him.

Yunho stared at Jaejoong for a few seconds before he turned and left the department.

Jaejoong smiled tediously as Yunho slowly disappeared from his sight.

“Mommy, how are you today? I’ve brought you some flower.” Jaejoong said as he put the flowers he bought into the vase and put it at the table beside the bed.

He sat down beside the bed and held on Ji Shin’s left hand.

“Mommy, aren’t you tired of sleeping? Won’t you just wake up and just look at me for a while?” He leaned closer and held Ji Shin’s palm came in touch on his cheek.

“Mommy…… I met him today. He’s still so tyrannical.” He scoffed before he continued, “And I went against him. It just feels so nice to see his weird expression.”

He stopped talking and there was a complete silence.

“But why my heart tells me to stop? Am I wrong?”

Jaejoong stared at Ji Shin’s peaceful face, expecting an answer but this time he still could not get the answer.
