living in a house is perfect so far-great housemates and 24 hour entertainment! classes, friends, boys, and life in general are good. there's just one thing that is driving me absolutely nuts and i can't do anything about it

Tom's an asshole. Just let Mary read this...I think if she's a true friend she'll at least think about trusting you and seeing who this man is...though it's not guaranteed to work. Also, if it doesn't go well, she might just ditch you altogether thinking you're just trying to slander him, but that wouldn't be much different than it is now...not to mention that at least you did the right thing.

I partly agree with wyhndam, but I think you should've said something before. If this girl really is one of your best friends than its your duty to keep her from dating shitty guys. In my opinion you should have told her what was going on before it got to this point, what Tom was saying to you & behind her back, friends don't let friends date jerks. Maybe for now you should back off for a bit, but sooner or later I think you need to let her know whats really been happening. If you guys are really friends that means you trust eachother, & she should trust that you're telling the truth.

i think that you and wyndham are right, and i will back off for the time being. i did warn her, telling her what he did to me when we dated, and continuously telling her that she deserved better and was not to be trusted. she knows i hate him and don't want her to be with him because he is not a good person. unfortunately he is very manipulative and can be sweet to her, so she is blinded to his faults. if they are not going to continue dating, then i don't want to ruin her first real relationship and taint the wonderful feelings that she has gotten from it. if they continue to date, then i will tell her.
