GISHWHES ended approximately 20.5 hours ago, and it's still all that's floating round up in my mindtank. I'm still thinking of tasks, what can be done to accomplish them, things I need to tell my team, and then I'm struck with the realisation Riiiiight, no need for that any longer. It was odd - the arc of Sunday through Tuesday was a bit of a laze, as I experienced it. And then Wednesday hit, and it with it came the realisation that there were only so many hours left to accomplish the 156 items between the 15 of us (well, 14, really - there was one girl on our team we ended up never hearing from). Plans fell through, and thus began the scrambles of seeing who else could fill in.
We were pretty well organised, I think. I constantly stayed on the spreadsheet we made and our facebook page when I was on the computer, but even with the best organisation in the world, GISHWHES does its damndest to make it fall apart.
It's one of those things where you are definitely better served if you're a doer rather than a thinker. Some items on the list tend to need some planning, but, in the end, it's all about just going out and doing - a bit of winging it, which makes it feel intense. I tend to plot things out ad nauseam - I want for the best, most impressive result, and sometimes I have a hard time ( ... )
