Wellllllll it's easy for you when they come in and pack up your stuff and what not. You just have to be there and watch them. They'll be some things they can't pack...like candles...anything flammable. The normal ya know. As for a job on post. I thought it'd be easy...but it seems hard. Plus, they make you get shots and stuff...and I hate needles lol. I'm pretty sure in order to apply you need to be living there. I don't think you can apply early cuz I'm pretty sure they need ur orders. About the furnished houses...ummm you already get a fridge and stove...I'm not sure about anything but that. Living off base can have its perks as well as its disadvantages. For instance. Living off post if you don't do the math right, you could be spending more than you would be if you lived on post. Cause on post you don't pay for electric or rent...that's what ur BAH comes from. So, if you get a place thats a lot of your BAH you gotta be careful about your electricity to make it match up. Ya know? Also, living off post it takes forever for you to ( ... )

Your BAH gets taken away altogether when you live on post. But, to me and Stephen it's way easier than sorting thru bills n' what not and having to worry about shutting off lights and water and stuff cuz of electricity and stuff. Housing will make their own allotment and take his BAH away if you live on post. Like I.E. We live on post and BAH here in KY is 822. We would get that 822 if we lived off post, but we don't...so housing takes it out and we don't even see it...and we don't pay rent or electricity. To us it's easier. You never have anything to really worry about. You're never evicted and your electric is never shut off lol. All you pay for is cable. You don't even pay for water or gas or anything.

i got this book called Married to the Military for two dollars at a used book store and its fantastic. there's a huge section on moving and what they pay for/how and the weight restrictions. a DIY move or having professionals come. i'd definitely look into it. i know there's a newer edition out now and i didn't have that one but it's an easy read. plus there's a bunch of other sections about pay healthcare etc. pretty much all the basics :)
