i woke up this morning with everything on my mind.  in less than two months, i'll be done with my four years of college.  in less than five, i'll be done with Baton Rouge.  though i keep telling myself that i'm ready to leave town and move on with my life (whatever that's supposed to mean), i know that my exit will be nothing

1. Often, writing graduate programs reject you right off the bat from graduation because they want you to take time and develop more. A friend of mine applied to study poetry as a graduate, was turned out all around, then he spent a year working as a dishwasher and getting a few things published in quarterlies, applied the next year, not only got in but got a full scholarship plus stipend. That rejection is completely normal, so dont be scared.
