And just as soon as I've returned, a load of work is dumped upon me...

well, i'm still an avid reader of the "consecutive lousy journal updates".

hope you're enjoying millidgeville and all of your graduate studies.

failed marriages always make for the best short stories. anything dealing with the decline of the human condition will always produce good writing. mildly depressing if you ask me.

First person, stream-of-consciousness commentary on the ills of the southern drinking ritual. Maybe include a misdemeanor and/or being banned from a culinary establishment.

Just write the sequel to an existing short story, ooooorrrrr, introduce a character who drinks too much and smokes a lot and finds himself living with his good friend, a crazy little cowboy with something to prove and an ex-marine who was much cooler before you lived with him.
