Earth Day: A Live-Blog

Mar 27, 2010 21:43

My housemates and I are celebrating Earth Hour. All the lights are off, and we're sitting in the dark, our laptops casting a blue glow.

8:33

"Let's tell scary stories!"

"Ah, no, too scary, how do we even sleep in the blackness? It's terrifying."

"If you two are going to be scary, I'm going to listen to music."

8:35

"Oh guys, I found a list called 'Why you should attend mustache parties." I wish I could link it, but it's a thing on Facebook.

"Hey, let's watch the cursed video from the Ring!"

"TURN IT OFF, TURN IT OFF!"

8:40

"Who made that sound? Was it you?"

"What?"

"It was a scratching sound."

"We're not investigating it. CASE CLOSED."

8:49

"You know what I hate about celebrities?"

"What?"

"Their hair is really unkempt."

A debate about the attractiveness of Selena Gomez vs. Miley Cyrus ensues. I'm on Team Miley. Please, don't shoot. I just think Selena resembles a Persian cat.

[My housemate and I get really shallow when left alone in the dark. It keeps the fear away.]

Victory conceded to Team Selena.

9:00

We decide that we are not scaring ourselves enough. We look up pictures of Robert Pattinson.

FEAR.

" Love me, pleaseeee," says my housemate, in the creepiest voice possible.

9:10

"Right, nothing is going to creep us out at this point."

"Let's look up Ouija board stories."

FEAR.

We can't even finish reading one.

9:27

"Oh look, our housemate is making desperate sounds, one room over."

Again, we are not investigating."

9:30

"Itsninethirtyletsturnallthelightson!"

"Glory, the bathroom light's on."

"LET'S ALL GO SEE ALICE IN WONDERLAND TOMORROW."

And thus, our night ended. We saved the planet a little bit, and got really scared in the process. Good times.

This post is entirely silly. I will return to being semi-normal in the near future.

scary, life, earth day
