I'm in a fic mood lately. I've been slowly but surely working on some of my ideas and I just signed up for jentfic_remix. It'll be my second time doing it. This means I'll have two challenges going on in the same time frame. Wish me luck! LOL. ♥
Just because the holidays have been busy for people, and it's possible people haven't been getting to read much fic when trying to write it for deadlines, I thought I'd throw out some fic recs for anyone interested. I'm not sure what you'd classify as a "new" author in fandom, so all I will say is that they are relatively new to me. :D
TO BE FOUND NEXT SUMMER ON A RIVERBANK - AU. The first day of summer training started without Toma. In which they form a rowing club, and Nino meets Ohno.

Then one day he went back home, unhappy and still searching and found that what he was looking for was right at home, waiting for him all along. AU.

I love what this author does with format as well as tone. A lot of Ohmiya and a lot of AU, but in my opinion it's all worth reading (and I'm kind of in love with the username).
5 WAYS ARASHI NEVER MET - Exactly what the title says.

All of the work at this journal is worth looking over, I promise you. I admit, when fics started coming out by this person, I constantly got it confused with g_esquared - most of you seem to have said author on your flist or else I'd recommend them as well. Now I know the difference, lol, and both are amazing. Another person who's a little Ohmiya centric (but a lot of good writers are, either always or at first >.> JUST AN OBSERVATION).
Annnnnnnd I think that's it for now. I feel bad I've never done this before because I'm sure people I noticed even further back than this might be missing out on some attention they should be getting, but yeah. I like these three - especially for the winter. Really good to grab a cup of tea or cocoa or coffee and just curl up as best you can with your laptop (lol) and just spend a little time exploring what they've got to offer.
And with that, I'm off to lurk at memes like the DoM I am write more fic. :Db
AH - but how about one oldie for the road in case you've never seen it? ;D
JUST LIKE VERSE - (Like Flying) the one where jun and aiba take a surfing vacation together.

LIKE FLYING
WHY: I've always thought that the Jun/Aiba pairing was the perfect OTP in Arashi, the way they work together just appeared seamless, like they were meant to be - but I had trouble finding fic that really got me excited about the two of them when first in fandom (I've since found some, obvs). This fic series is Jun/Aiba the way that I see them, but it's even more than that. It's complicated and it's heartbreaking, it's sexy and it's happy, it's got that something that pulls you in and makes you want to keep reading. Unfortunately it's also unfinished and the author comes back to it maybe... once a year. But the "Like Flying" section is my absolute favorite, and can stand alone.
