Inactivity has made me curious, so I have a question for those who live here:

Are there many types of sentient beings on your respective worlds? What are they like, and how do you handle the differences between your species?

[For the residents of House 50 (and closeby neighbours) you might hear a bit of a racket going on in the barn. Nanaki's ( Read more... )

In my world, no. Everything's pretty much run by humans. Dolphins and monkeys are supposed to be pretty smart, but they can't talk or anything.

And.. in the Digital World, humans are kind of in the minority.

Humans as a minority? That's definitely unusual.

It's mostly humans though there are also lots of different types of youkai!

What species are you?

It's difficult to explain. Usually it's best to simply take me as I am and leave it at that.

What are youkai?

It is? What about your world then? What kind of creatures are there?

Well, youkai is basically a blanket term for all kinds of monsters, spirits and demons. Things that humans don't really believe exist yet are afraid of meeting.

My world is full of humans, wild beasts, and monsters.

Your humans don't believe in monsters? Those who live on my world often deal with them on a daily basis.

Oh we've got lots of sentient beings where I'm from!

I'm a hedgehog, my best friend is a canary and most of the animals I've seen here exist in my world as normal people.

Are you associated with the blue hedgehog I spoke with earlier? You resemble him somewhat.

Sonic? Kind of. From from a world that has a Sonic, but not the one you spoke to.

I'm Amy Rose.

Dragons.

...There was... a war. [That's an understatement, so the clarify, he gives the name:] The Scouring.

[Oh hey, he knows you.]

The Scouring? What is that?

A thousand years ago... humans and dragons warred.

The conflict... tore the lands apart... and humans were nearly wiped out.

[This is common knowledge in Elibe, so he's having trouble thinking how to explain what the Scouring of things is]

A war between humans and dragons... that sounds terrible. Though on my world the dragons can't speak at all, let alone start a war. What were your dragons like?

[He's more curious to learn about other species- he knows plenty about humans.]

[Yeah, he wasn't exactly paying much attention to what he said. Probably because he didn't understand a lot of it.]

Sentimental beings? Uh, I guess there are some where I come from. I'm not really sure what their like though.

.....

OH, Redhawk! I've decided that you're definitely too cool not to join my crew.

Sentient beings, actually. Creatures who can feel and understand others, who coexist on the world with humans or others not like their own species.

...Your crew? What do you mean?

So... like elephants?

My pirate crew! We don't have an awesome dog on it!

I suppose that would depend on whether who elephants can communicate with.

...I'm not a dog.
