I just finished Season 1 of Battlestar Galactica via Netflix.
First: damn, that's some fine SF. It struck me as odd that they often mentioned Star Trek in the special features, but never mentioned Firefly, to whom they obviously owe a great debt their in look-and-feel, right down to the camera work. (And they clearly know it -- hell, the miniseries includes an obvious Firefly-class ship in one scene.)
Second: it took most of the season before I could get on the Starbuck love train, but I did. (The cigar-chomping, poker-playing dimension doesn't do much for me. but fortunately they saw fit to give the character a couple more, and Katie Sackoff was good for all of them.)
Third: I still don't understand why I'm apparently supposed to find Number Six attractive. (Which is odd, because in one of the special features, they interviewed Tricia Helfer out of her #6 get-up and she was decidedly pretty.) Hell, the only female character in the entire show who I found less attractive was Ellen Tigh. I guess this is where I'm reminded yet again that I'm not a Maxim-aesthetic heterosexual American male...?
Fourth: I really, really hope Gaius Baltar gets less goddamn annoying, because right now, I find him fingers-on-chalkboard grating. He's Basil Fawlty without the John Cleese funny. He's Julian Bashir without the Star Trek campiness.
Anyway, I'm eagerly awaiting Seasons 2, 2.5, and (when they release it) 3 via the magic of Netflix, and I should be all caught up by the time Season 4 begins!
