I signed up to Oxford English Dictionary's Word of the Day because I wanted to improve my vocabulary. Instead, the past three days I've been given words like "ginger-beer", "silt" and "mushrat." This is just to confirm that my apartment has crickets. They're loud, especially when they start taking advantage of the acoustics in the bathroom. I don't know how they got up here to the 4th floor and where they're living on account of the fact that crickets spend most of their time outdoors, but I just had to evict one ( Read more... )
