Some days (most days) being told the chicken I cooked is dry doesn't bother me.

Today is not one of those days.

Is it reasonable to ask to have a couple of days with zero criticism and also never being told what I should be doing?

It's just that, at the expense of sounding totally emo, I'm having a tough enough time just existing.

No, there's nothing wrong with being able to do things without criticism. Does it really matter if the chicken is a little dry? nope.

It's not unreasonable to want a break. Be cut a little slack. If it's not being granted to you then you should feel absolutely free to take it yourself.
