I am not going to be a consumer for anyone that is running these ads. I already sent a letter to woot and will be doing the same to myspace, google and LJ. Taking money for discriminatory ads is unacceptable.
i just looked this up on technorati Here is one site's response to the Yes on 8 ads placed on their website:
Just a quick note to say that we did not solicit the "Yes on Prop 8" ads that some of our California readers have been seeing today. They're Google ads, and, unfortunately, we don't see Google ads in advance of their running. We can reject them after the fact, however, and have set that process in motion. Expect to see them disappear.
I saw the "Yes on 8" ads here on LJ on my friends list. We contacted LJ and they said the same thing. If you call/ write in and complain they all move pretty quick to have them taken down. You should do that with all the sites you see them.
