I enjoy non-gaming centered nights more, personally. Game nights are usually unbalanced in some sense that either someone is sitting out/can't participate/losing and then I rarely learn what people are actually up to.

I am awaiting my chibi Gordon Freeman (perhaps with chibi headcrab or shotgun?)

There's certainly a place for each. I agree that you tend not to get as deep with conversations, but there's also no experience quite like playing a game with all your friends either.

Don't Get Caught With Three Balls was indeed pretty awesome, and indeed quite sweaty. I'm not sure that it will ever be played again, especially since the basement has been deemed too dangerous for it, but maybe someday.
