Hey. You're in the exact same spot I was. I'd considered calling her a couple times in the last week, but always decided against it. I left an LJ message after she talked about much of the stuff in her life going haywire; it was just a distanced bit of condolences

you're exactly right. i think i know how a recovering alcoholic feels. it's like i was starting to do ok, but then one night i ran into some old friends, we wound up at a restaurant, next thing i know i'm passed out in the gutter somewhere. and yeah, i'm covered in strangers' piss but i was having such a great time and i thought everything was still ok and now... well, here i am again.
and i do need to be fair to myself. fighting the sea and the sirens and, damn it, even the mighty GOOGLE if i have to.
and on a side note, i'm glad you didn't let it go years ago, otherwise we wouldn't be friends now. thanks scott.

Sounds like a pretty sharp analogy.
I am quite grateful for the unexpected awesomeness of having gotten to know you over these last few years.
And one Saturday in the near future, I'd be glad to swing a hammer with ya! I must admit, I am pretty heartless in terms of feeling good for doing Charity, but I'm all about doing manual labor to hang out with my friends.
I find myself doing it far more than I think the average person...

Most excellent. Yeah, I don't really care so much about the nice feelings, but I like to look around and see that I've actually accomplished something with my day. Also, if you're in Blissfield next Saturday, I hear that Matt and Tracey are having folks over if you're in the neighborhood.
And, for some reason you're the first person that came to mind when I saw this ... http://www.dropline.net/cats/kitty/cut-off-their-heads anything that can combine zombies with the internet is pretty classy in my book.
friday i'm going to the bar(s) in ann arbor with some kids from school. i'm not sure where for sure yet, but at least abc, probably ashely's, maybe making a swing into ypsi. it should be a fun time. you're definitely invited. i think we're starting around 8. saturday and sunday i'm in adrian for siena graduation stuff. how about you?
