Tech question - Time for a new PC

Mar 04, 2010 12:08

My power supply popped in my old PC :( and a replacement will be (BTX) just shy of £350 + shipping cost from the US. So i've decided just to get a new PC from the remains of my old PC

what I'm thinking about )

you could have a look at www.pcspecialist.co.uk ? they did both Matt's and my PC...

Usual warning about Dell power supplies. They cunningly redesigned their plug/socket so if you plug a non-DEll PSU into a Dell Motherboard or vice versa then you'll kill the motherboard and possibly the PSU.

tell me about it... still I had 4 1/2 years of use out of this one, so i don't feel it owes me too much

Having taken the PC to bit, i have discovered that there is someone on ebay with new 9 PSU's for sale so am going with that (cheaper) option...

bloody typical that i find the PSU only after making work for myself :( have already taken out all of the componants from the case.
