The Guardian has undoubtedly the worst music writers I've ever read anywhere. See this article for a case in point. I stopped reading any music reviews ages ago (I think Q had Robbie Williams on the cover and that was enough for me). The fact is the Arctic Monkeys are OK, the Libertines were alright but they are nowhere near the level of significance that the press attaches to them. Can they not see that they are average? I just don't get how music hacks get so worked up about Kaiser Chiefs or Hard-Fi. I mean do these guys actually have any taste or do they just fawn over whatever the record companies tell them to?

The new Belle and Sebastian album beats the Arctic Monkeys hands down (not that the London music press will actually notice).

BTW can you recommend a particular New Pornographers' album?

I have 'Mass Romantic' and 'Electric Version', both of which are very good. The new one 'Twin Cinema' is meant to be great as well. I can do you a copy of the other 2 and give it you next monday or something if you want.

I do agree with the first bit of the article though, James Blunt is as rock as the Arctic Monkeys; but they're both beaten beaten by the sandwich I had for lunch, so that's not saying much.
