Dancing, with one or both girls.
Crayons, paper, and oil make "stained glass windows".
Food coloring, oil, water, and paper make marbleized paper for cards, bookmarks, etc.
Dip strings into a little paint, dye, or ink, then swirl strings over a piece of paper. Fold the paper over the strings, then pull the strings out, and open up the paper to reveal nifty designs.
Show them what a mixture of cornstarch and water does when you set it on a vibrating speaker (but lay towels down over the speaker first!) It's the wrong season for making grass flutes, or I'd suggest that.
Let them make up stories while you play historian and write them down.
Too early in the year for fireflies, but if you can find glow-in-the-dark stars, and a decent map of the constellations, that generally is good for many hours of wonder.
A dark room, a bowl of popcorn, and some music = a concert (and often a nap-inducer as well, though I know you must know this one.)
