List Special Abilities Here: Much of the software he uses, he has designed (or has modified to his preferences). Freelance web designer in his freetime.
Personality: Shrewd, efficient, and business-minded. Highly professional, he needs to warm up to someone before letting down his guard. He has a great capacity for compassion and the ironic. With one exception, he doesn't allow the horrors of his job to affect him. He shies away from groups, going into a professional mode of sorts, but his good humor tends to get the best of him in the end. Doesn't shy away from his southern twang; however, but he can bury it if the situation calls for it.
History: At age 22 he joined the local Houston Crime Scene Unit where he served in the A/V (Audio/Visual) Lab, analyzing videotape and helping them develop specialized computer software/hardware. At 26, he was accepted into the FBI as a Special Agent, where he began to work for the Missing Persons branch in New York City as an A/V analyst. Although he was listed as a field agent during this time, most of his work came from behind a computer. At 28, he was sent around the country as a FBI Audio/Visual and computer specialist to assist the local FBI branches when necessary. Nick grew tired of this lifestyle after a few years, tired of not having a place to call home. When the FBI refused to place him at a location, he quit. He moved to LA and joined the local LAPD, where he was quickly promoted to detective, thanks largely to his computer expertise, which he still did when needed. Since he has nothing outside his life but work, he's always eager to start a new job. He's been with the LAPD for just over four years.
Interesting Facts: Loves anything with computers; archery (he's got excellent aim, both with archery and guns, just prefers archery); cards (not gambling, although he's good enough); jogging. He works out, but anything outside of jogging he views as a necessary evil. Played football in high school and college (linebacker or tight end), and the reason he entered law enforcement was because no one signed him out of college. It was the best thing that ever didn't happened to him. His trick at cards? He can count them. It's a trick that came in very handy. He's like Rainman. Numbers come very easily to him, and he has a tremendous memory.
Other things we should know: Hart's love life can by far be considered his weak point. He has fallen in love twice in his lifetime. The first, Hart was briefly engaged, but both mutually decided to be friends when he was sent as a consultant. At least, that's the story he tells. He *did* go into his consulting job after the end of his engagement, but which was the cause, and which was the effect... he has told few. The second time, the woman's death before they were even officially dating nearly destroyed him. He needed to take time out of work, and if not for his friends in the LAPD would have fallen into a state of excessive alcoholism and gambling. To the present day, he has avoided both since his recovery.
