going to Prague (and Bratislava!!!!)

OK. We're going to Prague and Bratislava. we're leaving in 2 days. I left work last night not knowing if I was ever going to go back. I'm not too psyched on the job front right now. but I guess work is work is work is work. I'm in the exact same position as you but here in the USA :-/ ...I'm 20...and I work at a shitty restaurant...but i know the language well so that's not a problem... my biggest problem is I wanna persue higher education (be a zoologist) and go to college here and I can't cos of the whole legal issue :(

Oh how I understand that one. In Greece I attempted to tell an employer where to stick his job, and I'm absolutely positive that I told him something along the lines of the weather being terrible in Canada. Which, of course, didn't have the greatest impact that a simple "Get Bent" would have....but the finger is universal. *laughs* The guy I'm dating expressed the same opinion when I told him about your entry, he's an aerospace engineer (his ego usually dictates the "rocket scientist" as well) and did his time in Israel as a waiter. And we both agree with you. It's humbling.

Nick, your experience is pretty similar to that of me going from .com startup geek to a teacher in the CA public school system. Humbling indeed. Summer school is getting to me and for that reason, I am more cynical than I have ever been.
