this is so crazy that you posted this because I was about to ask you for tips traveling with a baby. We are leaving on the 24th of this month and flying portland to san francisco then SF to hong kong, then HK to Cebu, Philippines. 2 hours, 13 hours, and 2 hours. I'm so freaked out about going through the airports... what to pack in a carry-on, what to check, etc. Any tips? :-D
any liquids at all need to be in the checked bags and you can get away with taking loads of bags bc you have the baby .. she gets her share of bags also.. you will be customs most of the time.. so extra time wont be really there like you think. I hope you take loads of pictures with you in the airport. Pack that on your carry on. The less you have to hall around the better. did you find outif ylour bags have an agreement toget htem to the next plane, bc if you have to take them to the new carrier that will royally suck. id say a good banket for the plane ride is a must the blankets on the plane are small and it is freezing inside. The long ride will hve food but you will get hungry in between the food. if youbuy water after you get through the checkpoint you are alloweed to keep it at the gate to board. bc you have already been security cleared and all items already in the airport are safe. if you pumped the milk will be tossed... so dont pump.. they will dump that out in front of you. bring trail mix bars an granola and fruit snacks
( ... )
I'm mostly concerned about baby food. Layla will want to eat during the long flight and she has a special diet. I'd like to take baby food, but I don't want them to dump it out!
call the airline and since you are flyiing on the long flt they have special meals.. you need to modify your meal as well bc you are nursing.. they have meals that are very specific like lactose free and kosher.. the list is long trust me i know a lot of food codes from school.
