The idea of cheaping out on paint in a very poor one, yet one we all have. We watch these DIY shows on HGTV that say they bought $100 worth of paint for an entire house and voila! Instant Make over! Primer isn't super necessary depending on the paint you are using and what you are painting over. Solvent-based paints painted on a painted surface (hee) is usually fine, unless you are going from a dark to light color it shouldn't be a big deal ( ... )

I also just go with rollers and a brush for edging. I go with a brush in the medium price range and make sure I wash it well. I have a pretty steady hand (the hubby does not) so I can get away without a lot of tape (and I get a cleaner edge than I would with tape). The husband likes to tape up everything and spray with one of those Wagner power guns until he's coated everything including his lungs ( ... )
