All banks are bastards. Bank of America is the King bastard. Find a nice credit union instead; you'll be happy.

The initial vote on the amendment didn't get near the 60 required today. There is no chance of it getting the 2/3rds in a real vote. There is even less chance of if passing in 3/4ths of states. What you really need to fret over (if you support gay marriage) is a republican effort to move the 1998 Defense of Marriage Act outside of the jurisdiction of the courts.
Barring a federal constitutional amendment, the issue of gay marriage will eventually make it's way to the supreme court, where a favorable ruling will be had. The status quo clearly violates the equal protection clause; every last politician knows this. If anti-gay marriage senators can short-circuit the judicial process, this can delay (possibly indefinitely) the legalization of homosexual marriage. They are presently trying to do just that.
So what you are saying is..they're lame. I'm totally kidding. Thanks for the extra information.I knew it was going to take 2/3rds, and that there's no way they were going to get it. We'll just wait and see.
You could write best-sellers with that kind of witty political commentary, and I'd be the first on the Amazon.com waiting list. I am your hugerest fan.
