My first day in Manchester - I'm exhausted! Woke up at 6am (probably woke Ryan and Jenny too, but they were very nice about it), snuck around trying to finish packing quietly, and then hit the bus, then the tube, then another tube smothered in backpacks and a suitcase. Luckily the trains weren't too packed and I suffered a minimum of dirty looks. ( Read more... )

Ah Nicky,
Back in England! You seem to have it so under control, this travelling thing. Are you ready to settle back into employment and share houses or could you have continued travelling longer?
Honours is getting shite, but still haven't come across the fear that normally motivates me so therefore work has been minimal, but slowly coming together i s'pose.
love ya

Towards the end of my travel stint, I was ready to come back and settle, and was looking forward to the move to Manchester. Plus I was worried about money, as I couldn't check my balance overseas, but on arrival back I'm doing fine.

Write more on your journal about Honours! I want to hear all the gory details. Supervisor being a bint? Hypotheses being consistently undermined? Ah, I remember the good ole days :) And remember, if you ever do get really stressed, just text me and I'll call you.

Love you lots!

Back in merry England, eh babe? Tops! It sounds reet dead cool.
I hope you find yourself a nice spot with good people.. You seemed to have quite a bit of luck in London, so hopefully it'll be the same in Manchester.
We've all appreciated your postcards in the mail (thanks so much) and as soon as you've found a spot you must send me your email so I can send you a parcel of love.
Also, I want to give you a call, so can you send me your mobile no. again through the email? It would be dead wonderful to hear your voice again (I'm getting into the swing of this 'dead' adjective business - although I am partial to the 'reet' instead of 'right')
LOVE YOU!
