Time to get in my complaint for the day. If you've created a fan work based off of a work originally from Japan, and your work involves dudes getting it on with other dudes, or at least wanting to, then please feel free to tag it as Yaoi. A Japanese term is reasonable appropriate to use on something that is derivative of a Japanese work. However,

Absolutely. I've seen it used, and passed it by for just those reasons.

What's worse, the story that finally prompted me to complain about this was already tagged as Kirk/Spock, rated explicit, and mentioned pon farr in the summary. But Lyndzie here just had to throw on the 'yaoi' too, because otherwise I might not realize the story contained dudes getting it on.
