I've been sad lately about how rusty my canon knowledge is becoming and I haven't reread DH since it was released, but let me give it a whirl. Didn't Harry have to be the one to face off with LV in order to destroy the last Horcrux? And then there was the prophecy ... didn't Dumbledore also believe it had to be Harry?

Well, if I remember correctly, the prophecy said about V and H that "the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches" and "neither could live while the other survives" or some such.

But my point is: why claim that the wand is unbeatable if, in fact, it isn't? I may be extremely nitpicky, but inconsistencies like that annoy me.
