knockin' back a couple of Arnie Palmers

I often go to Chipotlé for lunch.  I get a burrito and a large drink every time, and I always refill my large drink before I head back to my office.  Well, after already drinking so much iced tea the first time I filled the cup, I'm not very thirsty when I'm back at my office with the re-filled large.  So then I have this large cup of iced tea at ( Read more... )

I'd be tempted to try pouring some of it into the fountain just to see if an alarm goes off.

Although carrying three large cups of iced tea across a building does sound like fun too. Has anyone commented on this regular occurence?

I wish that someone would comment on it. That would make the affair much more interesting.

Unfortunately, I learned through prior experimentation that pouring liquids down the fountain drain does not set off an alarm. It simply prompts one of the maintenance men to come check and empty the drain.

I like your style.

That's probably a lot more sensible than me--I'd feel compelled to drink such a beverage, even in a short amount of time. Just because it would make me feel antsy not knowing what to do with it. This, of course, would mean that I would soon have to piss and quite a bit. And so I'd find myself walking alll the way down at the end of the building, regardless--therefore defeating such a purpose of said beverage consumption.

Of course one could say just don't get a refill. But I imagine we both know how silly and stupid that response would be. :D

Well, the problem usually ends up being that I set the beverage on my desk and then get carried away with various projects and trips to different buildings. I'll walk to the other end of the building and beyond, but I never think to take the large cup of tea with me. As a result, by the time I get around to noticing and acknowledging the cup on my desk, its contents have become pretty nasty.

And yes, it would be utterly silly to ask me not to get the refill. =)

Sorry to just drop by your journal like this, but I wanted to let you know that I COMPLETELY agree with your statement about the ICP video on triplesix's journal. I just didn't want to say anything there and be accused of "starting drama" or some other bullshit.

Like you, I got the same sort of impression from the song. "Let's just remain ignorant and write off everything that could potentially astound us intellectually as OMGZMAGICKSS!!!1 FAYGOOOOOWOOTWOOT"

Sorry (again) this is completely unrelated to your post, btw ;D

Oh, well thank you. I appreciate your comment here. Messages like the one expressed in that video, which seem to be indicative of a general mindset towards starry-eyed ignorance in the guise of "an appreciation for life", really tend to bum me out with regards to people. It's uplifting, though, when other people are equally perturbed by it.

And it's cool, this post was a total exercise in the mundane, so thanks for dropping by. =)
