I don't talk about it much, but I was on Depakote for a while [about a year], and also Lamictal at another time, I know they use those to treat Seizures sometimes. I highly advise trying to get them to put you on an Anti-Depressant once you get acclimated to whatever ends up working for you. I found that the Anti-Depressant can balance the emotional flattening that can happen with the Anti-Seizure drugs [which are also often used to treat Bi-Polar disorder in liu of Lithium]. Wellbutrin worked well for me, and it also made we quit smoking.
If you want more info about the prolonged effects of Depakote and similar drugs, you can ask me about it on AIM: travismakestime, which I think you probably already have.

I just read livejournal for the first time all summer, and I am SO SORRY!!! I don't even know what sort of condolences to offer you, and believe me, I've tried to think of some. If you ever need to talk, you can always call, e-mail or AIM me. I wish you the best of luck on the new med (I don't think that luck is the right word, but I hope that it works out for you). I'll send you all of the good vibes I can.
