So I know someone who works for a nonprofit who is having issues with email sending to the tonnes of people on her mailing lists.

hmmm. What my problem is, I send out an email to hundreds, thousands of people. Many do not receive it because their computer senses too many emails in the message. Also, it takes forever to send emails to ( Read more... )

She might try to send the emails as BCC. Use one email in the normal send to and add the mailing list in the BCC. That MIGHT solve the problem. If not she might want to break up her email list into several lists, most servers ignore emails from one address if the number of emails is over 50 - they consider it spamming if it is over 50 emails at one time.

At Save Farscape we created a mailing list through Yahoo. Seversal thousand people on it, too!

I'll post your query on my LJ and see if anyone has an idea.
