Elijah and Jenna must live so they can get together and have awesome dynamic. *Nods head importantly* Alaric can die. I liked him for a while, but I sort of feel like his character(actual Alaric not Klausaric) has been stagnate lately. Klaus can show up in his entirety and be sexy in his own skin (have you seen the promo pics for the flashback? Elijah AND Klaus in the same room with Katherine!*dies*) I am so with you on the historical shipping. It killer isn't it? Just killer! Sometimes I wish I had a time machine just so can go back and fix it! As for Sawyer/Kate.... *cough* Jate/Suliet fan here *cough* But I don't watch HIMYM so that part was over my head.
Yes! Elijah and Jenna would be a totally awesome pairing!! Why do the writers not see this?!
And I agree about Alaric - he was fine for a while but now it seems his purpose has been sitting at The Grill, talking to whichever character happened to walk past his table. But Klauslaric? AWESOME. (And NO I HAVE NOT SEEN THOSE! My head might explode from the overload of badass.)
As for the Jate/Suliet, we shall just agree to disagree because I will never understand why people don't ship Sawyer/Kate haha.
you know what would also make sense, in "Big Days" when Ted is ripping at his beer bottle and tells Marshall that he just wants everything to be perfect, what if that wasn't why he was nervous. in the case of a B/R wedding maybe he lied to Marshall to cover up the fact that he's nervous about being the only single one in the group left.
Yeah, I definitely think that's a possibility! I think Ted's such a nice guy though that he wasn't lying to Marshall when he said he wanted everything to be perfect - they are his best friends, and he wants them to be happy. But I can definitely see how Barney and Robin getting married would cause "What am I doing wrong if they are getting married before me" thoughts in his mind.
Crossovers are the greatest thing about fanfiction fandom. They're amazingly fun to write; amazingly fun to read. You don't even need to know both shows (just one and the vague premise of the other). My favorite thing these days is to go to here once every couple of weeks, and see if there are any stories where I know at least one of the fandoms. :)
One reason I'm excited about the prospect of them showing us B/R getting married is not just for the B/Rness but the fact that it would actually make Ted's storyline interesting for me. I want to see him battling with being bitter that Barney and Robin (the woman he once thought could be the one but wasn't partly because of her feelings on marriage) are getting married while still trying to be happy for them because he loves them. A successful B/R relationship throughout Season 8 could create a really good storyline for Ted as well. No other scenario would pack the same punch.
Just YES to this whole comment. It would be SUCH a good story!! So much so that if it's not Barney/Robin's wedding I will seriously question the intellect/story-telling ability of the PTB.
The most compelling argument for the Wedding being Robin's is that Ted started the story of how he met The Mother at the moment he MET Robin. Therefore, if he hadn't met Robin, then The Mother would never have met TED at Robin's wedding... Meeting Robin was the catalyst for the entire show.
Makes perfect sense, huh?
Except... something about this is just too easy. I get why everyone hopes it's Barney/Robin getting married - hell, I hope it is too. But I can't believe that the show won't put in an awful, HORRIBLE twist in there.
Naturally, I want this to be Barney & Robin's wedding. My happiness rests on it to an embarrassing degree! But, shipperness aside, I really do think it would be the best thing for the show all around, not just for B/R but as others have said for Ted to. Now that would be some angst I'd be interested in seeing him deal with
( ... )
I get what your saying about how it seems to easy, but it looks a lot different to the general audience. General audience members didn't pause their TVs for the half a second the "To everything there is a season" message was there, so they wouldn't connect that with Barney's dialogue. To the general audience that doesn't read into all the tiny things, Barney and Robin have been broken up for over a year and have moved on and dated other people.
To all them Barney's "in love" with Nora, and Robin's supporting that. So to the people who don't dig as deep as we do, a Barney/Robin wedding would probably be really surprising.
Hopefully the writers are thinking that way anyways :D
