Wow. I was just thinking about how much I have changed during the past year. It just astounds me. So many things have happened, I've met and lost numerous people. I've found more of myself. I can only imagine what will happen between now and a year from now when I sit back and reflect on everything ( Read more... )

I didn't know you worked in a retirement home. which one?
I had to volunteer at one for school for 40 hours, and I really didn't like it. its so sad there.

I work at Chateau Pacific on highway 99. I like it a lot, but it does get really sad.

I know what you mean, but if you just pretend to look at everyone like they're our age (like how they wanna be seen) then it's cool.

i think you can just "give up". my cousin was in the hospital a couple years ago, everyone said their goodbyes and a tear rolled down his cheek and he was gone..

don't you think it saddens old people just seeing the younger generation taking care of them?

i think it depresses them more. it makes them feel incapable & handicapped.

nope, you'd think so, but it's not the case. they look most happy when they come down to meals and see us. they actually don't like being around all of the other residents.
