Can you plese tell me if you think this is a good enough personal statement, im looking at you joe, and gary and iain, and charlotte. mainly. but any help would be great help.

Choosing this course is easy for me, as I have had a growing desire to become part of the art world for many years. Over this time I have gained inspiration from many icons of art, throughout its history. As testimony to this my A level work was selected as exemplary material by the examination board. It was also selected for the ‘Next Generation’ exhibition at the Catmose Gallery, Oakham; a selection of fine art at A level and foundation level from colleges in the area spanning Leicester, Loughborough and Stamford.

I do not take education for granted and I know that being part of a constructively critical group, that could influence my work; stimulate ideas and build vital social skills, such as the confidence to discuss my work and that of others, will be a key factor in my personal development. It will give me the opportunity to study further my chosen skill of painting, whilst gaining ideas and techniques from experienced tutors. It will place me closer to realising the dream of becoming a professional, practicing artist with an artist’s voice.

I visit both the major and the more obscure art galleries in London, whenever possible, and have also been to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and the Musée du Louvre and Musée d’Orsay in Paris.

As part of my foundation year I have worked as a member of a team on several projects in the production of single pieces of art. At school I was a member of the basketball team, and I have worked as a sound engineer for my father’s band. I also enjoy photography and computer manipulated images, and was an active member of the ‘Deviant Art’ Internet community, which allows artists to publish their work on a worldwide basis for discussion by both amateurs and professionals alike. I would say that I work both in a team and individually with equal enthusiasm.

thankyou shit loads for commenting if you do
